I’m very happy with all the Infocom games in my collection. These games are probably the epitome of what big box computer games are all about. They have very nice packaging, are not too big (the grey boxes at least) and have very nice goodies inside. The only slightly negative aspect is the uniformity of their packaging which is a bit boring (again, at least the grey boxes are). And then there’s the quality of the games themselves which is mostly very good.
Very good reasons for me to collect them. A complete collection is probably a few years away though as I’m still missing the following games (edited sept 2024):
- Deadline
- The Witness
- Infidel
Cutthroats- Moonmist
- The Lurking Horror
- Nord and Bert
- Sherlock
- Zork Zero
Journey- Arthur
I would also like to have Quarterstaff and Shogun. And maybe a few of the folio releases. I have the one for Planetfall, which is very cool. And to display the diversity in packaging, my copy of Zork I is the Solid Gold release. Maybe I should also have a grey box version before I can say that my collection is complete.
I’m curious if 2024 will bring anymore Infocom games to my doorstep.
