Running around in circles in Goodboy Galaxy

I’ve been playing Goodboy Galaxy on the Evercade on and off for a couple of weeks now. I’m really enjoying this game. It just shows that playing a game that is specifically made for a certain platform is more enjoyable than playing a game that is originally made for a completely different platform. It just all works: The interface is designed for a mobile platform with a limited resolution. Of course it helps that the gameplay is all there and the graphics are spectacular. I’m not too big into these Metroidvania type of games. You have to really pay attention to your environment and remember places where new abilities are needed. I’m not to keen on that most of the time. And when you’re not focused enough, you just keep running around in circles. Especially, when you’re playing it on and off with days in between sessions. Most of the time I simply get bored when that happens and I stop playing the game altogether. The only other Metroidvania that I didn’t give up on, was Alwa’s Awakening. Maybe I’m starting to get the hang of this genre after all…
