After some delays (i pre-ordered in March 2023, one year and seven months ago), Protovision has delivered the cartridge version of A Pig Quest. And they made good on the long wait. The box looks gorgeous with great colors and detailed artwork. It’s very sturdy and has nice artwork on all sides, even on the inside. Next to the cartridge, the box contains a nice big and colorful manual and a little plastic hammer. I already played a little bit of the game and immediately liked it. I’m looking forward to playing more.

It really gives me old school vibes, because I have to play it on the 1701 monitor. I usually play games on a LCD, the BenQ BL702A, through the Turbo Chameleon V2. I usually prefer the slightly better video output and less flicker. But now that I have no choice, I really have to use that old CRT. I could hook up another CRT through the S-Video output of the C64 Reloaded, but I tried that before and that is not really necessary for me to enjoy the game.
