Pickups: Buggy Boy and Pirate Adventure for the C64

I bought two games for the Commodore 64: Buggy Boy and Pirate Adventure.

Buggy Boy is a game that I remember seeing at a friend’s house back when I had my first Commodore 64 when I was about 11 or 12.

My (second hand) C64 came with 10 to 20 cassettes filled with games. And while I played many of them, eventually I had seen them and the novelty wore off. Then one day a kid in my class told me his dad also had a C64, and when I went over there, I noticed that he didn’t use cassettes, but thin floppy rectangles to load games from. Of course, I had to get me one of those as well, and when I did my games library expanded rapidly.

I remember seeing Buggy Boy and Defender of the Crown being played when I first went over there. Back then, I had only played Pitstop ,and Buggy Boy looked a whole lot prettier.

Next to my collection of early computer racing games, I also love my text adventure games collection. Pirate Adventure is a welcome addition, and I’d like to add more Scott Adams games as well.
