Getting my hands on Forge of Virtue is one of the highlights of the year in terms of expanding on my games collection. As befits an expansion pack, it comes in a rather modest box. The same cannot be said of my most recent addition; Siege of Dragonspear. It’s also an expansion (to Baldur’s Gate), but the collector’s edition is truly massive. It’s both taller and thicker, albeit slightly narrower, than the collector’s edition of Baldur’s Gate II for example.
In my first and only playthrough of Baldur’s Gate so far, which was the remastered version with the expansion included, I haven’t paid much attention to the additions that the expansion offer. I certainly plan to in a second playthrough (which I haven’t planned yet).
Just as with Forge of Virtue, this copy of Siege of Dragonspear is still sealed. Thus I have the pleasure of unsealing two older games in a couple of weeks time. What bliss!
Inside the box are a lot of goodies:

- A proper cloth map!
- A sturdy reference card
- A thick spiral bound adventurers’ guide with old school drawings, as well as full color screenshots and paintings
- A hardbound field report, also with nice drawings
- A bag of dice, a coin and a necklace
- And last but not least; two soundtracks CDs. One with music of the original remastered game and another one with special SoD music.
Especially the music CDs are nice additions and the fact that the collector’s editions of the original remastered game lacked this, was one consideration why I didn’t buy that at the time that was released. That came with pins and cards that I have no use for. I’d rather have a cloth map and music CDs than those kind of trinkets.
Space is staring to run out though. I think I’ll relocate the Torment: Tides of Numenera CE, although I would rather it would stay on the shelf with the other games.
