As a clear reminder that I’m buying way too much stuff, I received a package yesterday that I totally had forgotten about. Apparently I had ordered the excellent Banjo Kazooie Re-Jiggyed CD from Respawned Records. I have vague memories of looking into this months ago. And it only now arrived.

I frequently listen to these upbeat tunes if I need a little cheer me up.

So I thought this would be a good change to show off my newly acquired Yamaha rx-v450 receiver and s550 dvd player. A set that I used to have before I upgraded to the Yamaha rx-v2067 receiver I’ve had since about 2011. I sold the 450 but ever since I have my dedicated gameroom I have wanted it back. Especially now that I have the Sony trinitron TV that looks a lot like the one I used to have in the 00s.

The Yamaha set replaces the Sony receiver. Sadly, it’s a bit bigger and doesn’t fit as nicely in the TV stand as the shallower Sony receiver did.

The setup came with a Yamaha surround speakers and subwoofer, so I now have a proper 5.1 setup again.
