Somehow I never got a Nintendo Switch. I guess I never had the time to get another system and play games on that as well. I was happy with my PlayStation 4 and 5, Evercade and retro systems. And still used the Wii U from time to time. The 3DS not so much. But ever since the rumors about a follow up to the Switch reached my ears, I knew I wanted one.
I still want to play Mario Odyssey and Tears of the Kingdom one day. After all Mario 64 is one of my favorite games. And I loved Breath of the Wild. The system seller is the new Mario Kart World game. Mario Kart 8 is the one game my son and I still play sometimes on the Wii U.
Skipping console generations from Nintendo is not unusual for me. Not counting the 3DS I bought just before Nintendo stopped selling them, I’ve only had the SNES, N64 and Wii U. Added benefit of skipping a generation is that you have a whole slew of games to choose from that you’ve never played. Although for the Switch 2 only the aforementioned games spring to mind. And maybe some other Zelda titles.
