I’ve been playing Horizon Forbidden West for the last couple of days. After finishing The Outer Worlds, I was planning on playing a totally different game, like Tristam Island on the Amiga, but before I knew it, I had installed another big budget release. And I’m really enjoying it. It brings back memories from Horizon Zero Dawn, which I played in 2018/2019 (five/six years ago already).

I’m trying to be a stealthy character, with an emphasis on traps and diversions. This is not my usual playstyle, but forces me a bit out of my comfort zone. I remember having quite a hard time in the previous game, but up until now it is fairly easy. I keep killing machines quite easily by surprising them and shooting off parts. But I’m only in the first area of the game. Beyond the first valley, the machines will probably get a lot bigger and meaner.

The only thing that annoys me right now is that Aloy is constantly talking in an exasperated voice. Lighten up already!
