Time for some action with A Pig Quest!

Time for some action with A Pig Quest. My platforming skills are a bit rusty and it therefore took some serious time before I managed to complete the first level of APQ.

I felt like I needed more precise inputs than my trusty ArcadeR joystick could provide and I reverted back to my all time facorite: The “The Arcade” from Suzo. That stick is a lot stiffer and I can better get those pixel perfect jumps.

The third time I managed to reach the final screen, I succeeded and reached the village. Now it’s time for level 2. Rescuing pigs and cats from the fire and venturing into the obligatory sewers.

This is one excellent platformer! It’s my favorite modern platformer for the C64. It has the same feel to it as l’Abbaye des Morts and Doc Cosmos and somehow feels like a better C64 game than Sam’s Journey. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a great game, but I feel like it’s trying too hard to be a Mario game, a console game. APQ somehow feels more like a C64 game.
