I’m always excited when Lemon64 adds games to the database. Because the database is already quite large, these additions are mostly lesser known games. Browsing through these can be fun. Many times looking at these games starts me down a rabbit hole and ends with me buying games on Ebay. I don’t know which path led me to the games I purchased this time, and I don’t care, because these are two interesting looking games I didn’t know about. The first one is Venom from coders Clive Wilson and Les Hogarth, published by Mastertronic and the second one is Shard of Inovar from the same developers, published by Bulldog Software, a label of Mastertronic.
Both games come on cassette tapes with nice inlays detailing the story of the games and how to play them. Sadly, the print is too small to read even with my new reading glasses. I’ll have to use the magnifying glass as well! Or maybe I’ll just need to spring for the US floppy release that comes in a box and contains the other game in the series, Kobayashi Naru as well. There are two on Ebay right now, but they are too pricey for me. I’ll add in on my wishlist.
