A while ago I bought the first Dark Sun game, Shattered Lands. It was not a game that I was actively looking for, but any SSI rpg that’s not in my collection is always wanted. Not a month later, the second game turned up on a local online marketplace. I took that as a sign that I must bid on it and I did. Now the second game, Wake of the Ravager is also in my possession.
Just like SL, WotR comes in a magnificent large big box. It has a lot more content though. There’s a leaflet with adverts for other games, some of which I want to look out for, like Menzoberranzan (great name that. Rolls off the tongue.) There’s also a little brochure for the online Neverwinter Nights game and a bigger brochure for the Ravenloft game. Those brochures really make you want to buy the games! Lastly, there’s a rule and a clue book. Lots of stuff! But that leaves a lot of room still in this huge box.
This new SSI games pushes the last non-SSI games from the shelf. The entire shelf is now for SSI. Unless the next SSI game comes in a really slim box, SSI is going to spill over unto the next shelf.
