Retro action, relaxation and suspense finds in a new thrift shop

Seeking out thrift shops when visiting a town is a nice activity. They usually have quite a few Cds, DVDs, LPs and even VHS tapes.

Amongst my most recent pickups is an album from one of my favorite artists, Mark Knopfler. It offers a very relaxing musical experience. Equally relaxing, but in a totally different genre, is an album with synthesizer hits. Not only the usual suspects like Oxygene and Axel F, but also renditions of popular hits like Bohemian Rhapsody and Beat it. I’m curious how those sound. I remember I frequently used to fall  asleep while listening to synthesizer music on my Walkman in the 80s.

On the movie front, I pickup up all three Indiana Jones movies. I didn’t have those yet, because I’m not the biggest Indy fan (my favorite Indiana Jones is the Fate of Atlantis.) But they do deserve a place in my small DVD collection alongside such classics as Back to the Future and Terminator. From the original movies, I like the third one the best. The original owner clearly didn’t, because that’s the only one that’s still sealed!

The final pickup is Needful Things. I only watched this movie adaptation of one of my favorite Stephen King books once and I would like to watch it again.
